Ingredients
  • 5 Medium Apples
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup or Honey
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Almond Meal
  • 1/3 Chopped Nuts (e.g. Walnuts or Almonds
  • 1/4 Cup Coconut Oil or Melted Unsalted Butter
  • Pinch of Sea Salt

Warm, naturally sweet, and delightfully crunchy, this healthy apple crumble is the perfect mix of wholesome and indulgent. Made with fresh apples and a lightly spiced crumble topping, it’s ideal as a comforting dessert, a nourishing breakfast, or a cosy afternoon treat. Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup (if using), and vanilla. Transfer to a lightly greased baking dish.
  3. Make the topping: In a separate bowl, mix oats, almond meal, chopped nuts, cinnamon, and salt. Add melted coconut oil and maple syrup, and mix until crumbly.
  4. Assemble: Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
  6. Serve warm on its own or with Greek yogurt, coconut yogurt, or vanilla ice cream.

  • Use certified gluten-free oats to make it gluten-free.
  • Leave the apple skins on for extra fibre and nutrients.
  • For a nut-free version, swap nuts for sunflower seeds and almond meal for oat flour.
